Terms & Conditions
1) Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the VERT.WIN “Swap Desk” (the Service), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (Terms). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2) What This Service Is
The Service is a community-operated donation desk intended to support the Proof-of-Work Foundation (the Foundation) and related public-benefit initiatives.
When you use the Service, you are making a voluntary donation. As a courtesy and “thank-you,” you may receive a voluntary distribution of Vertcoin (VTC) from the Foundation’s VTC treasury or affiliated community treasury.
You acknowledge and agree:
Your transfer of BTC is a donation, not a purchase of securities, not an investment contract, and not a guaranteed exchange.
Any VTC distributed is provided as a thank-you, and not as a right, entitlement, or promise.
3) No Custody, No Brokerage, No Exchange
The Service is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, money transmitter, custodial wallet, or exchange. The Service does not provide custody of your wallet. You control your own wallets and addresses.
4) Eligibility
You represent that you are legally able to use the Service in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with local laws, regulations, and tax obligations.
5) How Donations and Distributions Work
When you submit a donation request:
You provide a VTC destination address.
You are given a BTC donation address and instructions.
After the BTC transfer is received and confirmed, a VTC distribution may be sent to your provided VTC address.
Important: The Service is processed manually (“24/7 while operators are awake”). Timing depends on network conditions, confirmations, and operator availability.
6) Fees, Slippage, and Final Amount
You understand and agree that the VTC distribution amount is subject to:
Network fees (BTC and VTC networks)
Desk fees / operational fees used to support infrastructure, staffing, and/or the Foundation’s mission
Price movement / volatility between the time you submit and the time confirmations are received
Minimum donation thresholds and anti-abuse measures
Any “estimated” VTC amount shown on the site is informational only and not guaranteed. The final VTC distribution amount may be higher or lower than the estimate.
7) Address Accuracy and Irreversibility
Blockchain transactions are irreversible. You are solely responsible for:
Providing the correct VTC destination address
Sending the correct BTC amount
Using the correct network (BTC on Bitcoin network)
If you provide an incorrect address or send to the wrong network, you may permanently lose funds. The Service is not responsible for losses caused by user error.
8) Transaction Issues (Underpayment / Overpayment / Late Payment)
Underpayment: May result in a reduced distribution or require manual review.
Overpayment: May be treated as an additional donation unless otherwise determined by the Service at its discretion.
Late payments: If the BTC arrives after significant market movement or after an order is considered stale, the distribution may be recalculated or declined.
The Service may request proof information (e.g., BTC TxID) to resolve issues.
9) Right to Refuse or Delay
The Service may refuse, delay, or cancel a request at any time, including for:
Suspected fraud or abuse
Sanctions or compliance risk
Technical issues
Insufficient liquidity in the distribution treasury
Network congestion or abnormal fee conditions
If a request is declined after BTC is received, the Service may, at its sole discretion, attempt a refund net of network fees. Refunds are not guaranteed.
10) No Financial Advice / Educational & Community Resource
All information on VERT.WIN about Vertcoin, proof-of-work, mining, markets, or economics is provided for general educational and community discussion purposes only.
Nothing on this site constitutes:
Financial advice
Investment advice
Legal advice
Tax advice
A recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or use any asset
VERT.WIN is a decentralized community resource. Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion. You agree you are solely responsible for your decisions and outcomes.
11) Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge that digital assets are volatile and risky. You assume all risks associated with:
Market volatility
Transaction fees
Delays and confirmation times
Software or wallet failures
Network congestion
Human error (including your own)
12) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service, the Foundation, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or digital assets arising from your use of the Service.
13) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service and the Foundation from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
14) Taxes
You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes that may apply to your donation and any VTC distribution you receive.
15) Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16) Contact / Support
Support is provided via the on-site chat and/or email. Provide your Order ID and transaction details for faster handling.
